Organization: World Vision -- Location: Mississauga, Canada -- Closing Date: July 3
World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. Here is an opportunity to realize your potential to change the world.
To the successful candidate we offer the opportunity to work in an innovative and dynamic environment with a team of passionate professionals who are committed to working together to make a difference in the lives of the world's most vulnerable children, their families and their communities.
According to the UN, the number of hungry people in the world is estimated to hit a record 1 billion - roughly one-sixth of the world's population. This chronic undernourishment feeds a never-ending cycle of disease, stunted growth, delayed development and grinding poverty. The implications for children under the age of two are even more perilous, as the damage hunger inflicts on children is often irreversible.
World Vision is launching an ambitious campaign called Healthy Futures aimed at fighting malnutrition in the most vulnerable sector of society: very young children. By securing adequate nutrition from conception through the age of 2, we can positively impact children's cognitive ability and improve the quality of life for both the children and for their communities. The Healthy Futures project is a multi-sector nutritional intervention based on proven methodology that will have a transformative impact on millions of lives in 13 countries.
World Vision Canada is seeking a passionate and committed National Campaign Officer to join in our efforts to combat world hunger and chronic malnutrition. This results-driven professional will have high regard for the organization's core values and will lead a team that boldly focuses on our 5 year, $50 million Healthy Futures campaign.
With the creation and execution of innovative fundraising and marketing strategies, the National Campaign Officer will:
