Organization: International Alert -- Location: London, UK-- Closing Date: July 3
International Alert employs over 100 people of 30 nationalities both in our London offices and in the regions where we work. Most are full-time staff, but we also engage consultants, interns and volunteers.
Some of these staff are part of our regional programmes in 20 countries or territories, working closely with partner organisations in conflict areas. Others focus on research, policy and advocacy on a range of conflict-related themes. They are backed by London-based financial and administrative departments and by our fundraising and communications teams.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will develop and implement programming within West Africa, with a view to promoting peacebuilding through improved governance of natural resources, including mineral extraction, water use and other land issues. The position is based within Alert’s West Africa Programme.
With a relevant post-graduate degree, you will have previous experience in peacebuilding or related activities, and in the field in Africa, preferably West Africa.
Along with experience of managing donor-funded projects and developing funding proposals, you are experienced in managing staff. You are comfortable engaging with local communities as you are skilled in promoting dialogues at different levels. You can draw on your strong analytical, research and writing skills, and have a proven track record of networking. You enjoy working in a diverse team and contributing to team strategy and expansion. The ability to communicate well in French is also essential.

Salary: £38,543 p.a. (more for an exceptional candidate) + benefits
Based: London, with extensive international travel
